Nugget's Bunny Farm
What do I feed my rabbit?
The main staple of rabbit food is pellets. The brand doesn't matter so much; just be careful to slowly integrate a new brand with an old brand. Rabbits can also have hay. When rabbits are 4 weeks old, they can be fed Timothy hay. Any time before that, it must be Alfalfa hay. Fruits and vegetables (treats) are also suitable for rabbits when eaten as a supplement to hay and pellets.
Tell me about treats.
It is always risky to keep two or more rabbits together. Two males definitely cannot go together, as they will fight. A male and a female will breed, which is never good for an unprepared owner. The only combination that may work is two females. Otherwise, the rabbits must be kept separate.Add Answer here
How do I litter train my rabbit?
First, you should get a litter box that is the right size and decide what kind of litter you want to use. We find that newspaper spread on the bottom of the box is the most effective, but there are other mediums you can use, such as small animal litter (sold at most pet stores), shredded newspaper, or regular paper. The small animal litter and the shredded newspaper/paper are much more difficult to clean out. Second, you should pick a spot in your house that you are comfortable with having the rabbit for about a month and then place the rabbit’s cage there. We recommend giving the rabbit a small enclosed area around the cage while litter training; this helps the rabbit to go in the same place. Third, place the litter box in any spot within the area that the rabbit will have constant access to. If you have had the rabbit for a few days and it’s gone to the bathroom, then place the litter box where the rabbit most frequently goes to the bathroom. Fourth, whenever you see the rabbit beginning or even in the process of going to the bathroom, pick it up and put it in its litter box. Also, you should put all stray poops in the box. If the rabbit has gone in its litter box (even when you had to put it in), give it a treat (see above). After a while, the rabbit will get the idea. We recommend continuing this process even after you think the rabbit is fully trained to guarantee retention.
Do rabbits get lonely?
The simple answer is no. Rabbits are not social animals, preferring to dominate rather than be friendly.
Should I get another rabbit? If so, which gender should I choose?
